The first VIA painted RDC passed over Dominion Atlantic Rwy tracks on May 30th 1980 when RDC-1 6132 made a special trip from Halifax to Windsor N.S. to go on display at Windsor for 6 hours, so the general public could view the new VIAized Railiner, that will go into service on June 8th on the regular run from Yarmouth to Halifax. RDC-1 6113 is going to be the other unit assigned to DAR service for VIA.

VIA are painting the ex CP ail CANADIAN equipment into their own colours, and cars already noted with the blue letterboard are as follows: 105, 109, 118, 120, 122, 126 and 127, 505, 506 and 515 PALLISER, EMERALD, FRONTENAC, FAIRHOLME and ALEXANDRA ... .... AYLMER MANOR, BAYFIELD MANOR, BRANT MANOR, CARLETON MANOR, DAWSON MANOR , DOUGLAS MANOR, STUART MANOR, CHATEAU ARGENSEN, CADILLAC LATOUR, MAISONNEUYE, RICHELIEU, RIGAUD, ROBERVAL, VARENNES and the EVANGELINE PARK, KOOTENAY PARK and STRATHCONA PARK.

DAR SW1200RS 8131 returned to DAR from Montreal, and 8134 has been sent back for overhaul.
