The first SS Evangeline approaching Corbitt's Wharf in Annapolis Royal about 1890. Judging from the pile of scrap wood amidships, her frugal captain appears to be using broken up packing crates as fuel. The photograph comes from Clarke's History of the Earliest Railways in Nova Scotia.
