NARRATIVE: Wolfville harbour at low tide. The photographer was standing on the railway line. The photo shows the Harris wharves and the ships owned by A.E.Harris when W.C.B. Harris was president of the company. The Building in the photo on the left is still standing (2009).
DESCRIPTION: Harbour at low tide with three ships tied up at the wharf. One is a four masted, two are three masted. There are many sheds, some with ventilation chimneys and some horse and carts on the wharf in the photograph. The four masted vessel has Theoline printed on the stern. Another line of its name is hidden by a boat.
HISTORY OF USE: Ships were owned by R.E. Harris and Sons. President was W.C.B Harris, son of R.E. Harris. This company shipped apples and potatoes to England and the West Indies, using both steam and sailing vessels.
