Original file (1,888 × 1,440 pixels, file size: 1.36 MB, MIME type: image/jpeg)
Double-header gypsum train crossing the Avon River Bridge at Windsor, circa 1948. First locomotive is No. 1018 and second engine is no. 999, the only DAR engine to be preserved. The photograph was taken by Nova Scotia's Information Service to promote industry and tourism. Examination of the original negative (No. 3,763) at the Nova Scotia Archives and Records Management shows the date to be 1948 or 1949 and the two Big Otis gypsum cars to be No. 350699 on the right and No. 351091 on the left.
- Photographer: Unknown, possibly H.B. Jensen, but more likely one of the provincial government photographers employed at the time.
