Summary

Apple Warehouses at Sheffield Mills, photographed by A. L. Hardy during harvest season, 1921. The photograph shows a full range of apple season activities. A delivery of new barrels can be seen in one wagon load on the far left. Apples are arriving from the orchard in two wagon loads and a truck load, to be unloaded for grading and packing into barrels in the warehouses, while CPR box car No. 78150 is loading barrels of apples track side on the far right. The camera faces east showing the north side of the British Canadian Fruit Association warehouse, on the left in the background, and the double warehouse of the Sheffield Mills Fruit Company at centre and foreground.

The photograph is inscribed: "Delivering apples for export, Sheffield Mills, N.S."
