A construction crew poses for a photo at Joggins Bridge. Photo and information from the Facebook group "Old Photos of Clare." Photo #3098.
The following was written by Hubert Gaudet:
"Joggins Railway Bridge (1909) Although this photo was not taken in Clare, most, if not all, of the crew is from there. From L. to R. 1. No ID, 2. Johnny à Ambroise Doucet, 3. Denis à Léon Comeau, 4. Harry à Cyrien Gaudet, 5. No ID, 6. No ID, 7. Resther à Cyrien Gaudet, 8. No ID, 9. Freddie à Théophile Comeau, 10. Willie à Léon Gaudet, 11. Eloi à Cyrien Gaudet (my grandfather)."
Mr. Gaudet also notes that the man wearing a shirt and tie (Eloi) who "retired in 1948 as senior Dominion Atlantic Railway Bridge and Building foreman after 43 years in carpentry and bridge repair service."
Matt Keoughan asks: Since we know Eloi Gaudet retired in 1948, is the year of the photo 1909 incorrect?
