High and Low tide views of the Kingsport Wharf from 1903 Dominion Atlantic Photo Brochure. The photographs were taken between 1891 when the lighthouse was constructed and 1901 when the outer leg of the wharf was widened. Shipping details on the wharf include, from left to right, pile of board lumber awaiting shipment, an empty flatcar, a flatcar with a large crate load and a gondola, possibly with a coal load. In front of the cars is the post crane used for loading ships and railcars. In front of the gondola is the gangway used to board the DAR steamer SS Evangeline which called regulary in this period. The lumber may also be piled in readiness for upgrades to the wharf which began in 1901.
