The Chronicle Herald

Beginning in 1874 as the Morning Herald, the newspaper became The Chronicle Herald in Halifax Nova Scotia in 1949 after the merger of Chronicle and The Star. The ChronicleHerald emerged as the leading paper in Halifax and Nova Scotia, becoming the province's paper of record. Its coverage often included articles and advertisements about the DAR and included for a time regular columns about railways such as the columns of railway historian J. B. King. In 1998, the morning and afternoon papers stopped production and had only a single paper produced each day. Also see [The Morning Herald] for newspaper articles prior to 1949.
