Dominion Atlantic Railway Freight Cars
The DAR had a full cross section of wooden freight cars with its own numbering system prior to its purchase by the CPR in 1912. After the purchase, CPR cars were introduced with increasing frequency but into the 1920s, large numbers of DAR lettered freight cars were still found in service and many continued in revenue service into the 1930s. However by the 1940s, most DAR lettered cars were in MOW service.
Canadian Pacific freight cars serving on the DAR reflected the wide range of rolling stock from the parent company from the latest steel cars to older outside braced wooden boxcars. The DAR also hosted the unique fleet of CPR gypsum cars in the Windsor to Hantsport service.
