DAR steamship SS Prince Rupert at the Digby Wharf on the St. John - Digby service in direct competition with SS Prince Rupert. With with superior vessel and service, the Category:Dominion Atlantic Railway Steamship Line forced the competing SS Monticello off the run. Photograph estimated to be circa 1895. Note:The vessel has sometimes been identified as the Bay of Fundy Steamship Company's SS Monticello. However the vessel in this photo lacks Monticello's walking beam and white paint scheme. This longer vessel is the DAR's SS Prince Rupert.
