1878 Nova Scotia Chapter 53 - An Act to amend the Acts relating to the Western Counties Railway Company
An Act was approved by the Nova Scotia legislature on April 4th, 1878 to extend the deadline for completion of the Western Counties Railway between Annapolis and Yarmouth. Security already given to the Province was to be renewed before the amendment took effect. Summary of Chapter 53 of the Acts of 1878
An Act to amend the Acts relating to the Western Counties Railway Company.
Passed April 4, 1878.
Section 1 - The time for completion of the Western Counties Railway was extended to May 7, 1879.
Section 2 - The time extension would not apply until a five hundred thousand dollar security from 1874 was renewed, but the earlier security was still in force on any parties already liable for completion of the railway.
Section 3 - Any law inconsistent with this new law was repealed.
