Conductors Albert "Shine" Manning (left) and Mel Alexander (right)[1] at Digby Station with meet of DAR Train No. 1 westbound and Train No. 2 eastbound at Digby, unidentified RDC units, photographed by Paul Enebach, May 26, 1977. Mel Alexander is carrying a CPR canvas bag with official CP correspondence such as paycheques and reports.

Description by Paul Enebach:

Dominion Atlantic Railway eastbound #2 on May 26 1977, the train I would ride to Kentville (on the left), met Train #1 at Digby. Both trains were single car RDC (Rail Diesel Car) runs, what the CPR called "Dayliners" in the timetable. Both these trains covered the 200.6 mile length of the DAR between Windsor Junction and Yarmouth, and the additional 15.8 miles between Windsor Junction and Halifax on CNR trackage rights, on a daily basis, although the numbers changed on weekends.[2]
