W&A locomotive No. 2 "Gabriel", later DAR No. 13 at the Annapolis Royal Station, photographed by Palace Rail Road Car Photographic Company in June 1885, believed to be decorated to celebrate the wedding of John William King to Rachael A. Redden on June 16, 1885 in Kentville.[1]
The photograph was published in an Chronicle Herald article, circa 1960, by "J. B. King" (H. B. Jefferon). King identifies the locomotive and notes that it is decorated to mark the marriage of an IOOF member named Mr. King to a Miss Reed (Redden). The background and distinctive eaves trim show this to be the first station in Annapolis Royal. See the J.B. King article about this photo.
