Dominion Atlantic Railway 1st Class Coach (with Smoking Room) No. 1427
One of a series (1425 - 1469) of 75'-6" steel heavyweight passenger cars weighing between 161,000 and 177,000 lbs., with 6 wheel trucks, ice air conditioned, built between 1923 and 1928 and with a seating capacity of 74 in the main room and 8 in the smoking room.[1]
Operational Appearances
From the daily notes of George Parks it is noted that No. 1427 was west bound along with other passenger and mail cars off the D.A.R. at Truro on August 19, 1956 due to the new Evangeline Dayliner service.[2]
