Kings Historical Society

The Kings Historical Society, a registered Canadian Charitable Organization, incorporated in Nova Scotia by the Societies Act, owns, maintains and operates the Kings County Museum in Kentville, based in the historic Kings County Courthouse (built 1903) just a few metres from the Dominion Atlantic's former mainline. The Kings County Museum operates as a regional museum preserving the heritage of Nova Scotia's Kings County and reflecting the way of life in Kentville and the county of Kings in the 18th through 20th centuries. (1) Located in Kentville, the headquarters of the Dominion Atlantic, the Museum contains one of the largest collection of DAR artifacts, thanks to the work of curatorial staff and the donations of many former DAR employees such as Leon Barron. In recent years the Museum preserved many of the artifacts uncovered during the dismantling of the Kentville Railyard and the demolition of the Kentville Roundhouse.

Use of Contributed Material
