Original file (1,600 × 964 pixels, file size: 230 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)
This pic was found on eBay.
A view of the Halifax station and Grain Elevator complex taken from the Lord Nelson Hotel. Interesting to note the DAR van (combine coach and van) on the track beside the turntable. Amazing to note the number of coaches in the coach yard.
This is probably DAR #91 and may well be taken on the same day as this photo: http://www.dardpi.ca/wiki/index.php?title=File:DAR91a.jpg.
Based on the look of the frame of the pic and the subject itself, it is most likely a John MacIntosh photograph.
In the background is the Halifax Grain elevator, where my grandfather Fred MacLean worked as Chief Electrician. Fred had a bad heart and unfortunately passed away on the job around the same time as this photo from the effects of his final heart attack.
