I have not heard of the bridge before seeing this postcard. Any information on the bridge? Other photos? Can anyone confirm and date this photo that was a sales scan from eBay? Steve

Neat shot, unusual angle. This is the Abiteau Bridge over the Halfway River at Mile 38.17. I don't think this is original 1869 construction: the roadbed and telegrpah line is too built up and this is not the original wide gauge, plus there was very little photography outside Halifax in the 1860s. This area is very prone to flooding and tidal surges so I imagine this is one of many rebuildings of this river crossing. Judging by the lettering and style of the postcard, I would say early 1920s.
