Noted on back of photo: "This train was on DAR Line North Mountain Branch at Somerset 1923". This photo was taken in January 1923 by T. M. Morton of Somerset, according to a Berwick Register article on Mar. 28, 1989. Morton told the Register the snow plow extra was westbound when a massive drift knocked the plow and engine sideways. One of the engine crew was badly scalded. Morton was paid to help shovel the locomotive out.
Note in the photo the end of the snow plow with D.A. 4 painted on it.
