This small stop in the wilderness became a stop for cottagers and vacationers after the railway arrived. The first station was a small shed, replaced in 1904 with a one room shelter with a stove. Facing the station was a mail catch post for trains to snatch mail bags from the small local post office when there were no passengers flagging down the train. In 1947, the station/section house was moved to Lake Annis from [[Sissiboo Falls]]. It served until 1962 when the station was moved to [[Kentville]] to serve as a maintenance of way tool shed.<ref>[http://www.yarmouth.org/villages/lakeanni/history-b/index.htm Jim Vickery, "The Railway", ''History of Lake Annis'' website: includes photos of stations and mail hook]</ref>
