Midland Railway Co.

Formed in 1896 and built starting in 1898, the Midland connected Windsor and Truro and required the construction of the massive South Maitland Bridge over the Shubenacadie River. The Midland was bought by the DAR in 1905 and became the Truro Subdivision.
