The DAR inherited a fleet of wooden stock cars from its ancestor companies such as the Windsor and Annapolis, the Western Counties Railway and the Midland Railway. These were relettered for the DAR and numbered in the 1090 series. In the 1930s, they were gradually taken out of service and eliminated by the late 1930s.
