Dominion Atlantic Railway Steam Locomotive No. 470.

Wheel Arrangement: 4-6-0

Built by Montreal Locomotive Works January 1912.

  • Builder No. 50462
  • 19" x 24" cylinders
  • 63" drivers.
  • CPR Class: D4g

This locomotive was transferred to DAR in 1940 and officially listed as a D.A.R. locomotive in 1941[1] and 1947[2]. No. 470 was the only D4g on the DAR and retained its CPR livery and number for its entire DAR career.[3] It was regularly assigned locomotive on the Kingsport branchline in the 1940s and 50s. No. 470 was scrapped in Kentville in July 1955.[4]
