Legislation and Bills

This Category is intended to organize legislation (passed by the federal parliament or provincial legislature) and proposed acts or bills before parliament or legislature. If a bill was passed into law and that is known then the corresponding Act should be referenced and provided if available. If it is not clear that a bill was eventually passed into law, then that should be noted.

When a Bill is passed, the number of the corresponding Act is almost always different from that of the bill before passage. For example, Bill 50 of 1907, once passed into law, became Chapter 101 of 1908.
