I'm going to guess that the station is in the Valley and based on the few shadows I can see it would appear that we're facing East and that's the North Mountain in the back ground. And if this photo is believed to be part of the Middleton Sub of the H&SW then maybe the location is some where between Middleton and Port Wade.

You make a convincing argument. Let's put it back in mysteries anyway. I was being a bit hasty obviously.

I'm going to guess that the station is in the Valley and based on the few shadows I can see it would appear that we're facing East and that's the North Mountain in the back ground. And if this photo is believed to be part of the Middleton Sub of the H&SW then maybe the location is some where between Middleton and Port Wade.

I would suspect that this photo is a Springfield Railway photo as the ties are logs, the subjects are sitting on logs, and the station does not indicate WCR, W&A or DAR heritage, and iut is included in a collection of other Springfield photos.

I'm going to categorize it as NOTDAR.

But it is wide open and looks like an apple evaporator in the background. I wish I had Dan's loupe to see if I could read a name on the boxcar on the right.
