Photographic evidence indicates this unit was in service on the D.A.R. in 1976.

9049 arrived on the DAR sometime in December 1975 or January 1976 to replace wreck damaged No. 9067.[1] In February 1977, 9049 was involved in a level crossing fatality in Windsor, killing a truck driver.[2]

Became VIA No. 6124 and sold in 1998 to Cuba.
