=Report on the Nova-Scotia Railway: its present condition and probable cost, by James Laurie, Civil Engineer, February 5th, 1858.=
This is a detailed report on the trackage, facilities and the  construction of Dominion Atlantic’s line from [[Windsor Junction]] to [[Windsor]], first known as [[The Windsor Branch]] of the Nova Scotia Railway and later as the [[:Category:Subdivision Halifax|Halifax Subdivision of the Dominion Atlantic]]. It was requested by the Nova Scotia Legislature in 1857 due to the concerns over costs and quality of the work on the Nova Scotia Railway so the legislature commissioned a report for "the  employment  of  a  competent  Engineer,  unconnected  with  the  Railway works,  for  the  purpose  of  affording  the  fullest  and  most  authentic  information  to  the  public  with  reference  to  the  Railway,  the  amount  of  money  already  expended,  the  sum  required  to  complete  the  Line  to  Windsor  and Truro..."

A similar report was commissioned by the legislature to documents costs and the condition of the Windsor to Annapolis line in 1873.
