Kentville rail yards

Can anybody remember how many acres the Kentville rail yard contained?

From the map on my wall, it looks like from the east switch on the east side of Cornwallis to the west end on West Main is about 2500' and about 200' wide from yard and including structures on the north side so around 11.5 acres

Hi, I had a estimate of 21 acres. I used the realtors on-line property map (http://www.viewpoint.ca/sidebarmap#!/su ... 64/zoom/18) and then added the total of all the lots in that area. I would still like to find a newspaper article concerning the land transfer to the town. Do you know what year CP relinquished the title to the land? I may be able to look up the article in either the Advertiser or the Chronicle Herald.

Whoops. Sorry about that. I was looking at the map thinking the grid on it was the scale measurement. It looks like 1250000 square feet and therefore about 29 acres. It was 500' x 2500' but of course I am only using a rectangle. Actual property line would be different.

Just had a look at the viewpoint and compared it with my B.I.D. Boundaries map and these are what looks like the rail yard

Station Lane , 66,69,70, Lot CP2A-2B, 90,100, 125, Parcel tk1, Lot K3A, Lot K4, Lot K3B, 155,
Lot K1-2, 569, Lot 100, Kentville Police Services, And maybe a portion of Lot CB-1 . Maybe someone could double check to see if I missed any.

Station lane says it is 12.9 acres so that includes the old ROW railbed down to the town line with the Village of New Minas

I am sure the property maps are going to be much more accurate than my guesstimate
