Latest Screenshots from the Yarmouth Subdivision

Post by hecrowell »

This has been a rewarding week - I have experimented with coastline areas around the southern edge of the Yarmouth Harbour which just Had to include Bunker`s Island - a peninsula located in the Yarmouth Harbour. A lighthouse which is named Bug Light was built in the very early 30's. An Irving Oil Storage plant facility with a wharf was also built there - not sure of the year built, but it was there in the 40's when I was growing up in that area.
Here is the MSTS Version of the Island: The ten wheeler has just dropped off three tankers and is returning to the Yarmouth switchyard.

And of course I could just not omit the Bug Light. This lighthouse served the shipping in the very narrow passage between Yarmouth and the Yarmouth Bar and was built on "little Bunker's Island" which is submerged during high tides. The land mass in the background is called the Rams Horn.
