All of them. They are a ways from the track and you wouldn't see them unless you went looking for them. Had to draw them because I know they were there. The naval gun is gone now, just the tank and the T-bird there now.
No, I don't imaging any of the swing bridges along this stretch of the DAR turned in decades either!
I'm still working on infrastructural, finished the two bridges at Joggins and the highway bridge beside the Bear River bridge yesterday. I have two more bridges to go and then I'll start adding structures.
High maintenance costs too, think they would have also had to pay for a bridge tender or two as well. When I was looking for pictures of the Bear River Bridge on Google one of the searches I did turned up a shot of what they said was the Joggins bridge with a Canadian Navy Corvette going through in the 50s. I wasn't totally sold that the shot wasn't mislabeled, it was going though a swing highway bridge that was about the correct length of the Joggins highway bridge but I thought I should have been able to see the rail bridge in the foreground but I couldn't. I'm not a navy guy, so I'm not sure what the last Corvette was retired, could have been training out of Cornwallis, so it might be labeled correctly. I'll try to find the shot again.
Here are some more shots between Deep Brook and MP 17, just north of Digby.
Train 1 crosses the 1640 foot long Bear River bridge.
South of the bridge was a favorite place for photographers in the days when trains were longer coming through the S curve along the shore of the Annapolis Basin.
Not much in Bear River now, just a siding and a few summer homes.
I'm kind of happy to be starting Digby too. I've been going through the 1974 phone book looking up customer's addresses and then finding what remains on Google Earth.
