I was thinking the other day 'what if...' what if CP had for some reason gave up their lease to maybe the province and the DAR was resurrected in maybe the late 70s or early 80s... what might they have looked like...

Ha ha! Good one Paul! I'd try a teal green on the body instead of the white and then have white lettering. I know the flag colours are white and blue and that's why you did it, but it's pretty bright with all that white! Maybe even add some yellow pinstriping to it as well.
As I stood on Canmore right beside the tracks on the weekend watching 150 car trains go by I couldn't help but wonder why the railways in western NS were killed by CP & CN. Probably not enough profit in it for them but the province has suffered economically ever since without a resource railway for the western end of Nova Scotia.
If the province had bought both the DAR and the HSW would we call it the Atlantic & South Western?
