Rapido's SW1200

If it's smaller than a bread box then it belongs in here. Post comments, stories, photos and whatever else seems appropriate for a model railway forum.

Rapido's SW1200

Post by SamuelMClark »

Okay so I'm allowed to buy TWO Rapido's SW1200, the problem is I don't know what I want the second engine to be. The first engine I'm getting is one that's numbered in CP Action Red 5" so I can have it numbered to 8138 which would have been one of the last SW1200 to run before WHRC, so I would have seen it as a kid, and the other number I'm think of getting is either the CP Action Red 5" in 8132 so I can have it for this scene http://www.novascotiarailwayheritage.co ... 20SE71.jpg. Or I just get one of the CP Action Red 8" and have it number in one of the 127x engines which again I would have seen as a kid. Though if I get both of the CP Action Red 5" I'll need to install the ditch lights as they don't come installed though I'm sure I could figure it out, where as if I get the unnumbered CP Action Red 8" the ditch lights come installed.

Thoughts?

It's a dilemma alright. 4 would settle the problem but get the ones you would have remembered is probably the best.

So which ones did you end up ordering?

Samuel,

The 12xx series have recessed sand filler hatches. I suspect Rapido will offer this model in the future. I suggest you number them 81xx to be prototypical.
