Use an S-2 to make an S-3?

If it's smaller than a bread box then it belongs in here. Post comments, stories, photos and whatever else seems appropriate for a model railway forum.

I'm not much of a rivet counter but obvious things missing that would have to be added were number boards, marker lanterns and side window shades. Seems to be one more engine door on the S3 than the HO S2 but that's small potatoes.

Got a line on some more accurate trucks and the additional pieces?

I'm not sure of all the differences between the S2 and S3, but where the front meets the top of the hood meets at a sharp angle on the S3, the S2 has a much more rounded meeting point.

For those that aren't nut and bolt counters, the Proto S2 was offered in DAR livery, numbered 6550 (I think). How easy can it get? Problem is, there scarce now, but they do show up on ebay.
