So I was board and made this...

If it's smaller than a bread box then it belongs in here. Post comments, stories, photos and whatever else seems appropriate for a model railway forum.

So I was board and made this...

Post by SamuelMClark »

So I was board the last few nights and I design this layout of Nova Scotia, you can now travel once again from Yarmouth to Sydney. Go though the Valley or Along the south shore and enjoy the ocean views. Though the labelling isn't all the complete, and Amherst, Sydney, Truro and Bridgewater rail yards are completely made up, some others are approximations such as Kentville, Middleton, Yarmouth, Windsor, Hantsport, Stellarton, Halifax.

Yeah I know it's a rather large layout but it would be fun to run trains on that!

Did this in 3rd PlanIt software what must be eight or nine years ago, still have no room for a layout, even though I don't think we really need a dining room.

Guess that's why they make train sims.

Well done you guys. I think you're going to need an entire bungalow for yours Samuel but to be honest, I've never seen anyone layout a NS railway like that. What a fun idea! Maybe it's time to become a virtual railroader and create that.

Yeah I do like to make my layouts some what modular in design, though I was thinking of maybe trying to see if I could make a virtual rail layout in Train Simulator 2013.

Wow. Never passed my mind but what a great idea for a modular club. You could have guys from all over the province interested in every line doing their piece and put it all together as a 400th anniversary of the Charter of NS tribute.

Yeah my thinking was that if I ever get the room I'd work from a plan to make sections and if I ever wanted to take a section to a train show, all I'd need to do is take the screws out holding that section and pack it up. Each section in that photo is 2'x4' unless otherwise stated (Middleton, Kentville).

So I started working on a section of my layout, I'm working on Clarksville. I had went up to the house there and asked the owners if I could take some pictures of their house for my layout diarama, which they said I could. So for the layout I've got the track layed, the fence and trees installed plus the Clarksville sign, and part of the driveway for the house. Currently I'm drawing up the plans for the house on paper then I'll have to trace them over to foram board. Also I was able to take some pictures of pictures of the Clarksville station so I might actually put that on the diarama also. Just need to do some drawings. The photos of the station have been uploaded to the Wiki.

I got some photos of the Clarksville station from the couple that lives there in Clarksville, and I have started making a model of the station based on the two photos. Though I think my station isn't quite long enough but oh well, this is my first attempt at modelling a building. In fact this is my first attempt at being this creative.
