Use this thread to let me know if there's any problems that you have spotted with the forum or the wiki sites.
I do know about the missing recent uploads. For some reason about 20 photos didn't make it over on the file copy. That has been rectified. They are physically there as I compare them to the upload log. What I am working on now is why the thumbnails for them won't show and why they won't load.
I will work on the the missing smilies on the right side bar here on the forum next. I think they disappeared when I set the new colour scheme up with a web site that generates a automated CSS file for the colour scheme AND specifies the graphics files needed.

Re: Any problems with the new forum and wiki?
Update: Lost pictures? No, just thumbnails for photos uploaded are missing.
Today:
Reindexed photos on wiki. Didn't help.
Tested with update photo and upload new photo and this is happening on any image uploads.
Now to figure out why! More later...

Re: Any problems with the new forum and wiki?
Fixed the problem with no thumbnails on all 3 wikis this morning. Just a bad path in the config file to the program that creates them.
Go ahead a resume uploading. All is well.

Smilies on "post a reply" right side bar are back again. No idea how the database table for smilies was all messed up. Maybe from versions and servers past. Whatever.... they are back!

Re: Any problems with the new forum and wiki?
Morning Steve,
The site looks a lot cleaner then the old maroon and yellow pages.
I went looking for a photo Saturday for someone and when I went to the wiki I discovered the Navigation button, the only problem I found was that when you hover over it the menu drops down and I didn't see anything below Vessels. I moved my pointer down and it just disappeared. I tried again and discovered I needed to but using my mouse wheel to see the bottom of the list. If I was new to the wiki I might assume that Vessels was the last entry in the menu and not look any further. Is there a way to either break the menu up into smaller menus. or add an arrow pointing down at the bottom of the menu when you hover over it to show there is more to it then what's initially displayed? Might just be something as simple of reducing the font size.
Paul

Re: Any problems with the new forum and wiki?
This is what I see on a PC web browser. The only time I see a drop down menu (apart from the user menu) is when you are on the mobile version if you're on a tablet or phone.
My PC: That being the case that you are on a mobile, yes I see that the mobile version has some issues.
This is a new skin introduced 2 years ago called Timeless. It is extremely popular because of the format and because it is both PC and mobile in one package unlike any of the current mediawiki skins. There is still work to do on it though according to all the chatter about it that I read. I will continue to monitor development of the skin and update it often to get all the fixes and improvements.
I have made it the default skin and as usual shut off all the rest but if you want to try some other skins I can turn them back on for you. The other skins won't be be in DAR colours and you would have to be logged in everytime to get any other skin you chose.
By the way. the wiki performance is much better when you are not logged in because all pages in Anonymous are cached, whereas when logged in they are not.

Re: Any problems with the new forum and wiki?
Hi Steve,
On a desktop here and this is what I see:
If I recall correctly, you are seeing the "Classic" appearance of the page, I've not found a way to change that here but maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place. Must be in my settings somewhere.
I also just added a link to a the wiki and see instead of seeing the DAR herald in the like, I'm seeing a "Powered By MediaWiki".

This "Timeless" skin does some interesting things. If you are not running your browser in full screen, the skin will shift to a mobile device view, which is what it has done to you. What is your full monitor resolution Paul? 1920x1080?
Try CTRL-F5 to clear out your cached pages on your end and that may help too. Depending on when you were on, you might have cached pages while I was still playing with them.
You might also try CTRL-Wheel if you have a wheel to reduce the page to 90 or 80% and see what happens.

Re: Any problems with the new forum and wiki?
Morning Steve,
Looked yesterday and couldn't find anywhere to change the appearance to "Classic", I think I was able to do that years ago.
Screen resolution is 1024 x 768 and in full screen mode on a 19 " monitor, that hasn't changed in six years.
I don't cache anything, haven't for years.
I'll try your suggestion about clearing the cache and see what happens, you never know what Firefox is doing so they can claim to be giving you a faster browser.
Paul
... and I just did a Ctrl+F5 and other then the blink, nothing changed.

Re: Any problems with the new forum and wiki?
I shall put the option back in to switch skins in the preferences for all who would like to switch back. However that skin is not "DAR" coloured be advised.
I see you are running a lower resolution which is what the issue is. If you reduced the page size to 90% or 80% then you would see the whole page as intended but that would also reduce the type size unfortunately.
