Unfortunate story in today's Chronicle Herald about the Windsor gypsum mines suspending operations indefinitely because of the comatose US building industry:

That will mean the end of operations for the Windsor and Hantsport Railroad as well since gypsum is about the only thing they haul. I hope maybe they will mothball until gypsum exports resume but that may be optimistic. Hate to see the last miles of the DAR track go dead.

From what I heard they are just shutting down and leaving all equipment there for further use once the housing market picks up.
