Help with the DAR line in Open Rails

Post by VIA6773 »

Evening folks,

If this post is in the wrong place please feel free to tar and feather me, I searched the forums for an FAQ in regards to this to no avail.

Short intro, I've grow up in Halifax most of my life with some time spent in the UK over the years. Needless to say i'm on this forum due to being a giant railfan in the first place. With my work schedule not entirely permitting me time to run simulators like I used to, this was a project I had in my bookmarks bar for close to 6 months now. Long story short I have an issue, and it may be the simplest thing in the world to fix, but as its my first time working with either MSTS routes (I guess i'm young for the hobby Railworks 2 was my first) or Open Rails I can't be sure. I live at the top of the hill beside the CN yard in Halifax and have spent many an afternoon trainspotting down there. There is a photo of my namesake train parked in front of my building!

With everything laid out in my Open Rails folder exactly as specified in the install for Open Rails that is on the forum, I have dragged my DARv3 folder to my routes folder. Copied the files in the activities folder into the consist folder. All required extra's are installed as instructed (xtrack, MSTS bin, and New Roads). With all required rolling stock. Did I miss something in the install? All I am left with when I open "Open Rails" is a installation that is loading the route but no option to pick a locomotive or an activity. When I click on the time table option all options related to route, line and loco are all greyed out. Is this a missing asset on my end or have I put something where it shouldn't

If any of you have any idea what it could be I can post screen shots of my folder layout and install path, or if someone is able to zip a working copy of theirs sim with rolling stock I would be eternally grateful

Thank you!

Perfectly OK to post here. I'm busy all day to today so I can't get around to this until maybe Sunday night or Monday at the earliest but I can help you so hang in there! I believe I have the whole thing zipped up and ready to go already but I have to remember where I put it!!

I realized that the version I had packed up was an older one.

Did you get the sim running? I'm still interested in seeing ti work for you.
