The last 3 months has been a real battle against spammers registering and posting SPAM on our forums. Because of the way it's configured, you can't see the first post from anyone until I approve it so you wouldn't be the ones to see the SPAM posts. But all the admins could. And there was a ton of it.
I firewalled as many addresses as I could and got 95% of the SPAM eliminated but every day there was still a few that got through. There are add-on solutions for this problem that I am looking at but until I decide on which I will use and get it installed on all 3 forums that I have, I am disabling any registration of new users for the time being.
If you have someone you know that wants to register in the meantime, contact me on their behalf and I'd be happy to set them up.
