Middleton Museum fundraiser
Just wondering if anyone has heard from the museum in regards to the sales of our mugs donated to the cause.

I haven't heard anything officially but I bought two mugs at the station this August and the fellow on duty said they were doing pretty well.

I hear the same from the folks there. I should ask how many they have left.
We have another angle too I think we should capitalize on and that is the fact that the Halifax and Southwestern of course used the Middleton station as the terminus of the "Blueberry Express"!

It certainly lends legitimacy to the museums's claim that the CN 10 wheeler at Upper Clements most certainly deserves to be at the Middleton Station where it could be displayed in it's rightful context.

Re: Middleton Museum fundraiser
Hello everyone:
Sorry I haven't been in touch. I don't normally visit the dardpi, as I am very busy these days with museum business.
Just looking through the Forums and noticed the msgs. about the mugs you all donated to the station.
We really appreciate this fundraising initiative. We've sold about 10 or so, over and above the mugs purchased by your DARDPI members. Sales aren't as good as I had hoped but that could change soon. The Middleton Farmer's Market will be utilizing our newly renovated freight shed in October, on a weekly basis for the duration of the winter. We hope to have them agree to use the station as a summer market location too. They plan to pay for the space. We will also be selling the mugs, railway gift shop items and miscellaneous items during the Friday market.
The Farmer's Market are also working on a fundraising dinner, possibly at the NSCC in Middleton with funds raised going to the museum. This would also promote local farmers and their goods. Looks like this could be the beginning of a really great partnership! We sure can use the support.
Also, as I mentioned in another post, our space is available for model railway shows. What better place to hold a model railway show, than a "Railway Museum"??
