Original file (2,879 × 1,613 pixels, file size: 776 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)
A property map from 1878 showing the track arrangements and engine servicing facilities of the Intercolonial Railway in the north end of the Halifax Peninsula, adjacent to the Halifax Harbour Narrows. This is the Richmond community, destined to be devastated in the 1917 Halifax Explosion. The Dominion Atlantic Railway used these tracks to access the Intercolonial Depot at North Street [and used the engine servicing facilities?] This is a plate from the City Atlas of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Provincial Surveying and Pub. Co., 1878; source: Halifax Regional Municipality.
