I'm going to issue these hockey mask RDCs here on the forum for BETA testing to anyone who will put them on the DAR line and give them a run. You'll have to know how to unpack a zip file in a temporary directory and move the folder into the MSTS folder to make it work.
Once they've been tested and proven to be OK I'll release them to the unsuspecting world at Train-Sim.

Re: DAR RDCs Ready for BETA
Morning Steve,
Took a ride on the... DAR this morning with your new RDCs, very nice, the white on the nose really makes the red stick out.
I wonder if you'd have a look at your lighting section and find the lines for the marker light. There is a way to kill the forward marker lights so only the trailing markers are on when moving in either direction.
Nice interior work as well, it's been a while since I've been in an RDC... wow, about twenty-eight of them!

Hi Steve,
If you have a look in your MSTS_BIN folder you should find a "Manual_Eng", at or about page 7 there is an extensive description of the lighting arrangements and what you need to do in the ENG file to get them to work.

Re: DAR RDCs Ready for BETA
Actually I have played with lighting before and although it's fussy, it's doable.
As far as I can see these marker lights are never illuminated on the forward face from all the photos we have. I think I've seen them green forward on some roads but not the CPR.
They appear to be illuminated red to the rear only when the headlights or rotating ditch light are on at the front.
Does this sound right to everyone?

Re: DAR RDCs Ready for BETA
Hi Steve,
They should be illuminated red at the rear any time the train is moving forward, whether any headlight or Mars light is turned on but I'd think in MSTS terms, if the headlight is on (low or hight beams), the rear marker lights should be on.
Green on the front would indicate an advance section of a train. Can't say I've ever seen that myself but there are one or two thinks out there I probably haven't seen!

Re: DAR RDCs Ready for BETA
Please replace the ENG files in your current RDC folder with these ones.
This should address your great suggestions.
I moved all the lights around a "tchh" to optimize the exterior lighting. I actually did not remove the lighting for the front marker in case we find out later how they were used. The front markers were simply set to black to kill them.
Let me know if there's anything else.
